Seeing is Believing
For more than 20 years, Lehmann Eye Center has devoted a day to patients who struggle to see but can't afford the cataract surgery they desperately need.
"Through our Gift of Sight program, we give back something to the people who are unfortunate enough to fall through the cracks, or who do not have insurance to be able to pay for the very needed procedure," Dr. Robert Lehmann said.
Many patients are referred to the Gift of Sight program from their primary care doctor or optometrist.
Timothy Young, M.D. also participates in the Gift of Sight event.
"We enjoy helping people restore their sight all year around with cataract surgery or laser vision correction surgery," Dr. Young said. "It's very gratifying to be able to offer these services to folks in great need through our Gift of Sight."
"The expression, 'It's better to give than receive,' is born truthful for our staff each holiday season through this annual program," Dr. Lehmann said.
